Duties: Provided substantive, critical feedback on the structure, themes, characters, tone, style, voice, and syntax of book-length manuscripts to ensure they met professional standards, occasionally revising passages. The books were Seattle’s Luna Park, by Aaron J. Naff, published by Arcadia Publishing for its Images of America series and Summerhawk by Peter Schmit, published by Quadrivium Books.

RETAIL BOOKSELLER AND STORE INVENTORY MERCHANDISER – July 1995 – April 2017. Half Price Books, 4709 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA. District Manager: Jill Willingham. Manager: Tim Batson. Assistant Manager: Chris Rauls, 206-297-6820.

Duties: As Store Inventory Merchandiser, reordered new merchandise; completely restocked display tables every week; coordinated tasks with store manager, regional inventory manager, and store staff of 20 employees; maintained inter-office and inter-company communication.

Also, performed retail customer service duties such as register operation, cash handling, and answering customer questions in store and on phone; stocked material; assessed and bought used material from the public.

AUDIO DRAMA PODCAST PRODUCER – October 2006 – April 2009. NeoHooDoo Studio. Founder: Derek Fetters.  Contact for References

Duties: Co-wrote 13 episodes of an audio program that were featured on the internet and college radio. Other duties involved directing a cast of 11 actors, managing a technical staff of 5, team building, technical troubleshooting, and basic digital audio recording and editing.

ROLE-PLAYING GAME CONTENT WRITER – 2004 & 2006. EOS Press – Weapons of the Gods. Contact for References.

Duties: Developed setting and character material for a table-top role-playing game licensed from a popular Chinese martial-arts graphic-novel series. Designed entire city-setting for adventures to take place in, as well as the characters and conflicts the players may encounter, which comprises 1/3 of the completed text for The Weapons of the Gods Companion.  Researched Chinese history, culture, religion, and folklore.

FICTION EDITOR – July 1997 to December 1998. Glyph: Monthly Tales of Highbrow Pulp. Labor of Love Studios. Contact for References.

Duties: Reviewed 10 to 20 short story submissions a week to judge appropriateness for publication in the magazine.  Coordinated with writers throughout the editing process.
